WorldSkills Australia (WSA) aims to develop and nurture the skills of Australia's youth. Our purpose is to promote and build a skills culture by inspiring young people, celebrating skills excellence and providing them with an opportunity to showcase their trade and skill talent. We achieve this goal through competitions held on a regional, national and international level.
2012 WorldSkills Australia National Competition, Sydney
The nation’s biggest skills showcase is coming to Sydney!
The 2012 WorldSkills Australia National Competition will be held at Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park from August 30 to September 1. The exciting three day competition and exhibition will also feature the National Careers and Employment Expo.
What you need to know about the National Competition:
- Free entry!
- Gates open from 9AM-4PM
- 25,000 square metres of competition and exhibition floor space
- Watch 500 of Australia’s best trainees, apprentices and students competing for the National title in over 50 skill and trade categories
- The competitors, aged 15 to 25, will be representing one of 29 Australian regions
- Visitors are encouraged to try their hand at 25 interactive Try’aSkill demonstration categories including, hairdressing, wall and floor tiling, bricklaying and many more!
- Explore hundreds of career options and pathways at the National Careers and Employment Expo
