Competition Overview
WorldSkills Australia's primary function is promote and celebrate skills and Vocational Education and Training through skill competitions.
WorldSkills Australia competitions operate on a two year cycle. Regional competitions flow into National competitions and winners, if eligible, will advance to the International Competition to represent their country.
Projects of each competition category are carefully designed and judged by industry experts to align with the current training and education provided within Australia's VET system.
To date, WSA has seen over 50,000 young Australians participate in the various competitions over 25 years.

Why compete?
Young Australians who enter the WorldSkills Competitions:
- Receive recognition within their schools, training providers, local community and media, industries and potential employers
- May have the opportunity to travel, network and meet others from across Australia and have the experience of a lifetime
- Will be able to measure their skills against others and bring home new techniques and methods
- May have the chance to gain an international pathway through a scholarship or the International Competition
