I'm a 20-year-old IT student at Hornsby TAFE in Sydney. My category in the 2008 WorldSkills National Competition was IT Software Applications and I am currently studying a diploma in IT Games Development. While I enjoy the programming side of my studies, my interest is primarily in the creative / storytelling / design side of games. It's something I'm pretty passionate about - I believe games are the most advanced medium for storytelling we have available today.
I'm not generally much of an outdoors / sporty person so the Leadership Program will definitely be a different experience for me! I'm looking forward to meeting the other members of this team and am really interested to see how our diverse backgrounds and strengths work together during the Program.
International Work Experience
I have some very exciting work experience lined up for me in the UK! Paul Sinnett, an experienced freelance video game programmer and volunteer for the International Game Developers Association, has very kindly offered to let me work with him in Croydon, England throughout July. For me, this will be the best part of the trip, and I can't wait to get into the studio and see how everything operates.
