The Board, Staff and everyone involved with WorldSkills Australia congratulate Tjerk Dusseldorp OAM, Chair of Dusseldorp Forum (DSF) and President of WorldSkills International on receiving an Honorary Doctorate at last night’s RMIT Honorary Awards Ceremony in Melbourne.
In his acceptance speech Mr Dusseldorp said he spent his working life “advocating for a parity of esteem between vocational and general education.”
Mark Callaghan CEO of WorldSkills Australia said “Tjerk’s Honorary Doctorate is justifiable recognition of his many years of hard work and dedication to vocational education and training.”
Tjerk went on to accept the award as “singular recognition for the effectiveness of the work of the talented multidisciplinary teams I’ve led over the past 20 years at the Dusseldorp Skills Forum, and for somewhat longer at WorldSkills.”
Tjerk (Jack) Dusseldorp – WorldSkills International President holds degrees in Law and Social Science. He is the Chair of the Dusseldorp Forum and past Chairman of the WorldSkills Australia Foundation. He has served on the Boards of the NSW Technical and Further Education Commission and the Australian Student Traineeship Foundation. Previously, he was the first Executive Director of the Evatt Foundation and headed up the Office of Youth Affairs within the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet in the second Hawke Government.
