The 2017 Global Skills Challenge is a simulated international competition and an important training exercise for the lead up to the 44th WorldSkills International Competition being held in Abu Dhabi, October 2017. The four-day event will simulate the conditions which will be experienced by Team Australia in Abu Dhabi and provide the Skills Squad with a valuable opportunity to gather as a team and hone their skills against competitors from other WorldSkills member countries. The Global Skills Challenge will provide a fantastic opportunity for people to witness the Skills Squad in action as they prepare for Abu Dhabi.
The 2017 Global Skills Challenge will attempt to replicate the International Competition in the following ways:
- Competition will be held over 4 days
- Test projects will be based on those being used in Abu Dhabi (where possible)
- Materials will be based on those being used in Abu Dhabi (where possible)
- Competitors will be marked using the updated CIS that will be used in Abu Dhabi
It is important to note that the 2017 Global Skills Challenge is a ‘training exercise’ and as such will not be open to the general public, but visitors and spectators are welcome.
WorldSkills Australia will be in contact with you to confirm your registration and requirements by Friday 5th May. For any queries please contact Rebecca Kennewell (WorldSkills Australia Project Team Leader) via firstname.lastname@example.org.
