Let the battle begin!

Day one of the National Competition started today, the Perth Convention and Exhibition centre was filled with nerves and excitement as the competitors became familiar with their projects and work spaces and began working on their project modules.

In addition to the overall buzz the National Competition brings, one of the many highlights of today was the fashion technology speed test, which involved each of the 10 competitors participating in a 30 minute draping challenge. The work is currently being displayed as anonymous for members of the public to vote on their favourite, the people’s choice winner will be announced on the final day of competition.

WorldSkills Australia also welcomed the Hon Dr Kim Hames MLA, Deputy Premier; Minister Training and Workforce Development for a tour of the competition. The WorldSkills Australia National Competition is a free to the public event. The event is open from 9:00am – 4:00pm between Thursday the 18th and Saturday the 20th of September at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
