RMIT University and WorldSkills Australia bringing safe and reliable water to remote communities in the Northern Territory

Following the success of the inaugural Water Innovation Challenge held in Singapore, RMIT University and WorldSkills Australia will be bringing the model to the 2014 WorldSkills Australia National Competition as an official demonstration category.

The main focus of the challenge is to have two multi-disciplinary teams working together to deliver a water supply solution for two remote communities near Katherine in the Northern Territory. Both of the communities have poor access to a safe and reliable water supply.

The teams will work together with the local community and will use the best available resources and technology to address the water supply issues.

The teams will include but are not limited to, engineering students, plumbers, secondary students studying a vocational pathway and members of the local communities near Katherine.
