Dylan Armstrong’s foray into the world of IT was inspired by his father, a professional in the field who specialises in development, cloud computing, and solutions architecture. This paternal influence led him to learn web development at just 10 years old, laying the groundwork for his ambitious pursuit in the sector.
Presently, Dylan is developing his expertise with a Bachelor of Information and Communication Technologies at Swinburne University while also working an integration tester for Zwift. This practical involvement in the industry complements his academic pursuits, giving him a skillset that’s informed by real world experience.
Dylan’s WorldSkills journey has been as rewarding as it has been challenging, with the young gun winning gold at both the Regional and National competitions. His skills and determination were rigorously tested during the National, culminating in a remarkable victory. A significant factor in his success was the support from his team leader, Steven Cranage, who offered crucial advice and guidance, particularly during a challenging third day of the competition.
“I dreamed of showing off my skill at a WorldSkills competition and believed it would open up many more opportunities for me, which it has.”
