WSA competitor awarded Queensland Overseas Foundation scholarship

WorldSkills Australia would like to congratulate Rhiannon Pittard a 2012 WorldSkills Australia National Competitor who was awarded the prestigious Queensland Overseas Foundation scholarship on March 28th at a ceremony at Parliament House.

The 21 year old pastry chef from Mt Sheridan will now get the exciting opportunity to live and work overseas in a country of her choice for up to two years. The scholarship valued at $7,500 will assist Rhiannon in her journey abroad as well as help her with any initial settling-in costs.

The Queensland Overseas Foundation was established in 1976 and has since supported over 100 Queenslanders from a variety of trades to pursue further skill development and gain new experiences overseas that can ultimately be brought back to not only the State of Queensland but also Australia.

WorldSkills Australia would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the recipients of the 2014 Queensland Overseas Foundation.
