WSA National Championships, Perth 2020 – Volunteer Application

WorldSkills Australia invites applications for a range of voluntary roles for the WorldSkills National Championships & Skills Show 2020. The event will be held in Perth at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on the 13th -15th August 2020.

All successful applicants may be required to be in Perth from *10th August – 17th August to cover bump in, competition days, and bump out.

*These dates are dependent on individual skill requirements; exact date requirements will be communicated with you closer to the date.

As part of the organisation’s ongoing review of operations and our commitment to continually improving all aspects of the competition process, the roles will be filled from applicants who make their submission in the following format and who meet the following criteria and deadline. This application is for the 2020 National Championships only.

Applications for the 2020 National Championships voluntary roles will open on 15 November and will close on 16 December 2019. Applicants will be notified of the success of their application by late January, once competitor numbers have been finalised and WorldSkills Australia has determined accurate requirements.

Please be advised that this application does not guarantee you a volunteer position at the 2020 National Championships.

Note: WorldSkills Refrigeration and Air Conditioning National Championship will be held at the ARBS 2020 – Melbourne  19-21 May for more information email info@worldskills.org.au

Position Descriptions: 

This application must be completed in one continuous session. Please ensure that prior to commencing your application you have the following documents on hand and can upload them.

Qualifications (upload file & checkbox)

  • Working with Children’s Check (mandatory)
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Forklift Licence
  • Certificate 4 in Training & Assessment
  • Other

Please note the following considerations prior to applying for these roles:

  • Skill Manager
    • You will be required a day prior/post specified required dates for the bump in and bump out.
  • Chief Judge
    • In addition to attending the National Competition, the chief judging personnel will also be required to assist WorldSkills Australia with the planning and preparation of the competition, including email or phone correspondence, cluster group meetings and the selection of other judges.
    • Judges are required to work together with a group of other judges for the best interest of the competitors. You may be required a day prior/post specified required dates for the bump in and bump out.
    • By selecting this role, you are agreeing to meet this requirement throughout the entire duration of this process.
  • Deputy Chief Judge
    • Judges are required to work together with a group of other judges for the best interest of the competitors. By selecting this role, you are agreeing to meet this requirement throughout the entire duration of this process.
  • Judge
    • Judges are required to work together with a group of other judges for the best interest of the competitors. By selecting this role, you are agreeing to meet this requirement throughout the entire duration of this process.
