Congratulations Chris MacDonald!

Chris MacDonald is the Refrigeration HVAC Regional Manager for City Facilities Management, NSW. Chris has been involved with WorldSkills Australia (WSA) since 1988 when he first competed in a Regional Refrigeration Competition. After his regional and national medal wins, Chris progressed to the 1999 WorldSkills International Competition in Montreal, Canada, where his impeccable skills saw him take home the gold medal for Australia.

Since his competition days, Chris has remained a passionate volunteer with WSA, during this time he has been involved in various roles including Judge, Chief Judge, Project Designer, mentor and trainer on all levels of the WSA competition cycle.

Chris has also fulfilled the role of Expert at WorldSkills International Competitions, which has seen him pass on his 19 years of experience in all facets of the refrigeration and air conditioning industry to 2011 Skillaroo, Liam Janetzki and 2013 Skillaroo, Mitchell Barron.

In more recent years, Chris has fulfilled the role of Chief Judge in the Refrigeration category and has been instrumental in organising the biennial National Refrigeration Competition.

This year Chris will again be a Chief Judge at the 2014 WorldSkills Australia National Refrigeration Competition to be held this Month at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
