Terms & Conditions - Regional Competition

By accepting these terms and conditions (and participating in the event) you acknowledge the following:

You are registering to participate in a WorldSkills Australia Competition. Your data will be stored and used as per our Privacy Policy below.

  • All competitors under 18 years of age at the date of the competition require the consent of a parent or guardian. This consent is given by the agreement to these terms and conditions by the participant’s legal guardian.
  • You will read and adhere to the information contained within the WorldSkills Australia Competition Pack which will outline the Competition details, conditions, health and safety guidelines and the Code of Conduct. The Competition pack will be forwarded to you via separate correspondence.
  • You understand additional information may be provided via email or on the website in relation to the competition
  • You hereby acknowledge and assume all the personal risks of participating a WorldSkills Australia Competition. Whilst every endeavour will be made to ensure your safety, you acknowledge that participating involves a level of risk.
  • You acknowledge that safety precautions undertaken are a service to you and other competitors but are not a guarantee of your safety
  • You consent to receiving any medical treatment deemed necessary before, during and/or after the competition as well as the release of any medical information necessary for that treatment
  • You agree to be responsible and assume all liability for additional costs incurred in participating the competition, including but not limited to travelling to and from the competition, forgone wages, tools and equipment you are required to bring as indicated in the Competition pack and in the event of an accident medical expenses not covered by the Insurances WorldSkills Australia has in place.
  • You acknowledge that you are personally responsible for your possessions.
  • You acknowledge that your personal information will be collected, held, used and provided by WorldSkills Australia to persons or organisations associated directly or indirectly with the competition including partners or other stakeholders and service providers (supporters) for purposes connected with the organisation, conduct and promotion of the competition
  • You agree that WorldSkills can retain your name and contact details and that they can be supplied to the relevant authorities should they be needed to contact trace to support the governments national health response to Covid-19.
  • You agree that your personal information will be collected and held in the organisation’s database which may be used for commercial purposes, including providing information regarding WorldSkills Competitions, future events, product information, special offers from partners, and other opportunities which may support you career or industry. WorldSkills will keep your personal information secure, and your details will not or distributed to any third parties without prior consent.
  • WorldSkills Australia will disclose your information to the state/territory government department (or vice versa) in the state/territory that you are competing in to comply with any regulatory reporting requirements and in most instances to the host school / TAFE or Registered Training Organisation (RTO) running the competition.
  • You acknowledge that photos and/or video/film footage may be taken during the competition and that your image, name and likeness may be used in future promotional material in relation to WorldSkills Australia, its partners or the VET sectors activities. Please contact us if you do not give permission.
  • Please contact your WorldSkills Main Regional Contact (https://www.worldskills.org.au/regions/) if you would like to update any of your personal information, or consent regarding your image being used in photography and videos.
  • By competing in a regional you may have the opportunity to participate in the National or International competition however this is not guaranteed (Eligibility Criteria for specific events and progression guidelines are applicable in the determination of an individual’s pathway).

VETiS Terms and Conditions 

By signing this Form, all parties are accepting these Terms and Conditions and acknowledge the following:

  • The competitor is registering to participate in a WorldSkills Australia Competition. All competitors under the age of 18 at the date of the competition must have the consent of a parent/guardian and Principal (or other nominated school representative) in order to be eligible to compete.  Date of birth information is to establish eligibility in the VETiS Regional and if applicable National Competitions.
  • All personal data will be collected, stored, and used as per WorldSkills Australia Privacy Policy (https://www.worldskills.org.au/privacy-policy/). The personal information will be used in order to administer and facilitate participation in the WorldSkills competition including providing a safe environment for the competitor.  WorldSkills Australia will disclose your information to the state/territory education department (or vice versa) in the state that you are competing in and in most instances to the host school / TAFE running the competition.  Only the appropriate personal information will be disclosed to these organisations to complete their functions.  Information collected will be used or disclosed for the purposes stated in the Terms and Conditions or where otherwise permitted by law.  It may be used for commercial purposes including providing information regarding WorldSkills Regional Competitions, future events, product information, special offers from partners and other opportunities which may support the competitor’s career or industry.  WorldSkills will keep personal information secure, and details will not be distributed to any third parties without prior consent from the parent/guardian.
  • If any changes are required to the competitor’s personal details prior to the competition or any queries, contact the WorldSkills Australia VETiS Regional Coordinator contact in your state at https://www.worldskills.org.au/regions/ prior to the start of the competition. An unsubscribe option from all information sent from WorldSkills Australia, is outlined in the WorldSkills Privacy Policy.
  • Information promoting special offers from partners, career opportunities and industry information may be shared with the competitor.
  • The competitor will read and adhere to the information contained within the WorldSkills Australia Competition Pack which outlines the competition details, conditions of entry, health and safety guidelines and the Code of Conduct. This Pack will be forwarded to the competitor upon completion of Registration.
  • Additional information in relation to the competition may be provided via email or on the WorldSkills Australia website.
  • The decision of the judges is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Whilst every endeavour will be made by WorldSkills Australia to ensure the safety of the competitor, it is not a guarantee of their safety.
  • The parent/guardian acknowledges participation involves a level of risk, as such, the parent/guardian acknowledges and assumes all the personal risks of their child participating in a WorldSkills Australia Competition.
  • The parent/guardian consents to their child receiving any medical treatment deemed necessary before, during and/or after the competition as well as the release of any medical information necessary for such treatment.
  • The parent/guardian is responsible and assumes all liability for additional costs incurred for their child to participate in the competition, including but not limited to travelling to and from the competition host location, forgone wages, tools and equipment the competitor may be required to bring to and use during competition (as outlined in the Competition Pack) and in the event of an accident, any medical expenses not covered by the insurances WorldSkills Australia has in place.
  • The competitor is personally responsible for all their possessions prior to, during and after while on site at the competition.
  • In line with CovidSafe practice, WorldSkills Australia will retain the competitor’s name and contact details and will supply this information to the relevant government authorities should contact tracing be required.
  • By competing in a Regional Competition, the competitor may have the opportunity to participate in the National competition however this is not guaranteed. Terms & Conditions - National Competition

Terms and Conditions (Open competitor)

By accepting these terms and conditions (and participating in the event) the Competitor acknowledges the following:

  1. The Competitor is registering to participate in the WorldSkills Australia National Championship. Date of birth information is to establish eligibility in the National Competitions and for insurance purposes.
  2. All Competitors under 18 years of age at the date of the competition require the consent of a parent or guardian. This consent is given by the agreement to these terms and conditions by the participant’s legal guardian.
  3. All personal data will be collected, stored, and used as per WorldSkills Australia Privacy Policy (https://www.worldskills.org.au/privacy-policy/). The Competitor’s personal information will be used to administer and facilitate participation and the Competitor’s role in the WorldSkills competition including providing a safe environment for yourself and others.
  4. WorldSkills Australia will disclose the Competitor’s information to the state/territory government department (or vice versa) they are representing. The Competitor’s information may be used for commercial purposes including providing information regarding WorldSkills National Championships, future events, product information, special offers from partners, and other opportunities which may support your career or industry.  WorldSkills will keep the Competitor’s personal information secure, and details will not be distributed to any third parties without prior consent from yourself or your parent/guardian if you are under 18.
  5. The Competitor acknowledges that photos and/or video/film footage may be taken during the competition and that their image, name, and likeness may be used in future promotional material in relation to WorldSkills Australia, its partners, or the VET sectors activities. Competitors are to contact their local WorldSkills State Manager (https://www.worldskills.org.au/regions/) if they do not give permission.
  6. If any changes are required to the Competitor’s personal details prior to the competition or any queries, Competitors are to contact their WorldSkills Main Regional Contact (https://www.worldskills.org.au/regions/) prior to the start of the competition
  7. The Competitor understands additional information may be provided via email or on the website in relation to the competition
  8. An unsubscribe option from all information sent from WorldSkills Australia, is outlined in the WorldSkills Privacy Policy (https://www.worldskills.org.au/privacy-policy/).

  14. The Competitor acknowledges participation involves a level of risk, as such, they acknowledge and assume all the personal risks of participating in a WorldSkills Australia National Competition.
  15. The Competitor consents to receiving any medical treatment deemed necessary before, during, and/or after the competition as well as the release of any medical information necessary for such treatment.
  16. The Competitor is responsible and assumes all liability for additional costs incurred to participate in the competition, including but not limited to additional travel to and from the competition location, forgone wages, tools, and equipment the competitor may be required to bring to and use during the competition (as outlined in the Competition Pack) and in the event of an accident, any medical expenses not covered by the insurances WorldSkills Australia has in place.
  17. The Competitor is personally responsible for all their possessions prior to, during, and after – the competition.
  18. In line with Covid Safe practice, WorldSkills Australia will retain the Competitor’s name and contact details and will supply this information to the relevant government authorities should contact tracing be required.
  19. Competitors that are accepted by WorldSkills Australia to progress to the National Championships are responsible for paying a non-refundable $250 registration fee.
  20. Competitors acknowledge that receiving a medal at the National Championships does not automatically guarantee progression to the WorldSkills International Competition. To advance to the international competition a number of factors are taken into consideration including, but not limited to, whether the skills the competitor is competing in is selected to advance to International competition, the competitor’s eligibility as per the WorldSkills International criteria and financial considerations.

  17. The Competitor is personally responsible for all their possessions prior to, during, and after the competition.
  18. In line with Covid Safe practice, WorldSkills Australia will retain the Competitor’s name and contact details and will supply this information to the relevant government authorities should contact tracing be required.
  19. The competitor acknowledges that there is no further progression after competing at the National Championships. The competitor may choose to compete in the open age category, however will be required to register and compete in an open age regional competition to be eligible to be nominated to be selected to compete nationally in a future national championships

  4. You will read and adhere to the information contained within your position description and agree to the details of your appointment.

  6. You hereby acknowledge and assume all the personal risks of participating in a WorldSkills Australia National Competition. Whilst every endeavour will be made to ensure your safety, you acknowledge that participating involves a level of risk.

  16. Please contact operations@worldskills.org.au if you would like to update any of your personal information, or consent regarding your image being used in photography and videos.
  17. You acknowledge that your selection to fulfil the role you nominated for does not guarantee that you will be selected for the same role or a higher role in subsequent competitions.  Your selection does not guarantee any selection in relation to an international role either.

Code of Conduct

The WorldSkills Australia Code of Conduct is based on ethical and professional values and relates to all representatives(including staff, volunteers and competitors) of WorldSkills Australia participating in WorldSkills Australia relatedactivities. Serious breaches of this code may lead to action such as exclusion from WorldSkills Australia activities,including the WorldSkills Australia Regional Competition.

The Code sets the standards for WorldSkills Australia to maintain an ethical approach in all associated activities.

 

EACH REPRESENTATIVE OF WORLDSKILLS AUSTRALIA WILL:

At all times discharge their respective responsibilities with integrity and observe the standards and valuesprescribed by WorldSkills Australia in accordance with good management and personal practice.
Strive to promote, implement and monitor outcomes relevant to the objectives of WorldSkills Australia and thepromotion of youth.
Work with other representatives in a spirit of mutual respect, support and co-operation.
Ensure an even and efficient flow of communication between all parties with an interest in the operations ofWorldSkills Australia.
Ensure that all communications are inclusive, informative, true and not misleading, respecting the moral standardsand the dignity of the individual.
Conduct themselves in such a manner as will not discredit WorldSkills Australia’s operation nor injure thestanding and reputation of Australia as recognised on the international arena.
Avoid the consumption of alcohol and illicit drugs during the competition period and whilst performing theirduties for WorldSkills Australia. Representatives deemed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs may beremoved from their duties or banned from the competition entirely, at the discretion of the CEO.
Have regard for the professional reputation of others.
Not use authority or office for professional gain.
Balance the interests of WorldSkills Australia with their personal responsibilities and commitments.
Respect the confidentiality of information which comes to them in the course of their duty.
Refer to WorldSkills Australia, all matters that have the potential to impact on associated organisations.
Respect and value the contribution of Government, Industry and Training Organisation partners.
Foster the development and co-operation between all parties, whilst at the same time demonstrating the values ofleadership and determination in promoting WorldSkills Australia.
Establish an environment of mutual respect, equity and co-operation between government, industry, sponsors,regional committee members, RTOs, competitors, and the community in pursuit of these objectives.
Maintain a policy of suitable dress whilst on official functions which is to be neat, tidy and of a standardappropriate for the occasion.
