Emilia is a very creative and curious young lady with a big heart.

It was her Nonna who inspired her to follow the restaurant path as she imbued her with a passion and appreciation of food and the restaurant industry.

“The aspects I enjoy most about my job are being able to talk to customers as well as the fact that there is always something new to learn.”

Emilia has a great attitude towards her trade. “Like anything, you have good days and bad days, ups and downs. But seeing yourself grow, learn and develop your skills/trade is the best feeling.”

Her win at the National Competition in 2016 was a highlight and she looks forward to continuing to build her skills and meeting new people through WorldSkills and in particular being a member of the 2017 Skillaroos.

In the future, Emilia would love to work in a chain of hotels in the USA, Italy, the UK or France.

Emilia is supported on her WorldSkills journey by Didasko Learning Resources.
