Kirsten Hickman
Kirsten is a caring and outgoing young woman who stumbled upon her career path by chance. After working closely with a beauty therapist at a pharmacy, Kirsten decided to pursue her interest in beauty therapy. After competing against some of the best Beauty Therapists, Kirsten was awarded with a Certificate of Participation and is one of the top 20 young Beauty Therapists in the world. On her return from Helsinki, Kirsten strives to continue to increase her skills and aims to be the best she can be in her chosen profession. She also has received a taste of the wider world and is interested in increasing her horizons by working overseas. Her advice to other young Australians considering a trade based career, “It is a fantastic line of work which offers many challenges and possibilities. A trade offers you flexibility and involvement with WorldSkills Australia, which gives you the opportunity to be recognised as the best in your trade nationally and perhaps even internationally.” Kirsten is an excellent example of where passion and dedication will take you. She serves as an excellent ambassador for her trade, her state, her TAFE, her family and her country.
