Competition Preparation Week

With the 42nd WorldSkills International Competition around the corner, preparations for the event are ramping up. The competition organisers were joined by a cohort international guests including Chief Judges and Deputy Chief Judges, who were there to discuss and finalise their respective category management plans as part of Competition Preparation Week (CPW).

Amongst the invitees were Australian representatives; Donna DeMaria (Hairdressing), Troy Everett (Bricklaying), Grant Petch (Automotive Mechanics), Grant Stewart (Plumbing and Heating), Jason Hindes (Cabinetmaking), Brent Butler (Manufacturing Team Challenge), Chris O’Donnell (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning), Jarrad Langdon (Web Design), Paul Condran (Welding), Noel Munkman (Deputy Technical Delegate) and Brigette Collins (Technical Delegate).

Jarrad Langdon described his recent trip to Leipzig as, “a great opportunity to meet the Workshop Supervisors for each skill who will be organising the competition areas.” He was also taken back by the sheer size of the competition venue. The competition is being held at the Leipzig Trade Fair, also known as the Leipzig Messer.
