Logan Harrison
“I’m actually really good at tiling. It’s not something I talk about often, but it’s a big part of who I am.”
Tiler, Logan Harrison is a man of few words but the ones he chooses are quite profound. “I live by the motto, ‘Dream big, work hard, stay humble’.” It might be something he learned from his dad, who is his inspiration for choosing the Tiling trade.
Logan’s WorldSkills experience has been something of a whirlwind, culminating in him achieving a coveted Certificate of Excellence in Wall and Floor Tiling at the 2025 Nationals. The icing (or perhaps, grout) on the cake was his 2026 Skillaroos Training Squad selection. It left him feeling equal parts “shocked and excited”.
In Logan’s eyes, the most challenging part of the competition wasn’t performing tasks under pressure, it was meeting new people. “It taught me to get over my shyness and communicate with others. I’ve also learnt a whole lot of new skills and who knows where they might take me? Maybe my own business in the long run.”
Throughout his journey, Logan’s had the never-ending support of family, for which he’s immensely grateful. He also singles out his mentor, Chris Randall, for helping him with training, and his workplace for being supportive. “They help me learn new things every day but have also taught me the value of getting along with everyone you work with.”
When it comes to next steps, Logan hopes to lay the foundation for successful business ownership. For now, he’s focused on continuing to gain experience on-site and learning all he can from his colleagues and mentors.
