Day one of competition

By 9:00am this morning, each of the 86 competitors participating in the 2013 Global Skills Challenge (GSC) had their tools in hand and heads down focusing on getting off to the best possible start at the simulated international competition.

Ashleigh Huntley, our Fashion Technology Skillaroo was busily laying and cutting out patterns for her clothing designs at Polytechnic West’s Bentley Campus, whilst Ben Hackett our Painter and Decorator was trying to colour match his paint at the Midland campus and Timothy Taylor our Automotive Technician was diagnosing and testing faults at the Carlisle campus.

By the end of day one, each of the competitors had made significant progress on each of their projects. Watch the video to see what the competitors got up to on day one and check out the images on our Flickr site.
