Congratulations Dion Iori!

Dion is a cabinetmaking and joinery teacher at the Allied Timber Trades section at TAFE NSW South Western Sydney Institute’s, Lidcombe College. Dion first became involved with WorldSkills through his role as a judge at a regional level in 2005. Since then he has held roles including, Site Crew, Convenor, National Judge, Project Designer, Trainer and International Expert.

More recently, Dion coordinated and supervised the building and installation of custom made cabinets at Giant Steps, an educational centre for children and young adults with autism in Gladesville, NSW. Under Dion’s supervision and guidance, a group of students from Allied Timber Trades section at TAFE NSW measured and installed the cabinets as part of the students’ assessment which provided them with practical training.

The project’s success was largely due to the work of Dion, WorldSkills Australia would like to recognise him for his outstanding contribution to the Giant Steps Cabinetry Project and thank Dion for his continued support and dedication.
