International Women’s Day!

With International Women’s Day just passing us by on March 8th, WorldSkills Australia would like to take this opportunity to highlight and acknowledge all those women including our very own competitors, who have made their mark in the vocational education space.

To help introduce young women into the building and construction industry, Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) in partnership with WorldSkills Australia, established a female only Try’aTrade event which has since been helping and encouraging young women to consider pathways in the industry.

On April 2nd, SkillsTech, Acacia Ridge campus will host the Construction Skills Queensland and SkillsTech Australia Girls Try’aTrade, which will see 50-60 young women from schools around Brisbane attend.

The young women attending will have the opportunity to try their hand at various skill and trade areas. The Girls Try’aTrade interactive activities aim to provide an insight into working in non-traditional skill areas.

For more information about Try’aTrade and the upcoming Girls Try’aTrade please visit www.csq.org.au.
