Message from the CEO: Skill Excellence in India

The involvement of WorldSkills is central to the development of trade and skill excellence in India. As part of a larger mission to inspire young people to showcase their talent in a fostering and collaborative environment, the strong ongoing relationship between WorldSkills Australia and India is pivotal to the creation of a global skills force ready to take on any challenge.

The 2017 Australia-India Skills Mission, Skilling a Global Economy, is a prime example of how WorldSkills is continually strengthening relationships throughout diverse countries and communities, taking the WorldSkills philosophy directly to the classrooms and work places of India.

With the support of Senator the Hon Simon Birmingham, Minister for Education and Skills, the Australia-India Skills Mission serves to deepen conversations around the workplace challenges that are shared between nations, illuminating new and adaptable ways of working together to address these challenges now and into the future.

We greatly appreciate the opportunity for continued collaboration between Australia and India and look forward to implementing the positive results of this year’s conference into productive and informed action steps locally, nationally and internationally.
