Retirement of Dave Arnold
Friday 1st of February marked Dave Arnold’s official retirement. Dave has retired from his position as Head Teacher of Electrical Trades from TAFE NSW Western Sydney Institute.
Since commencing his employment with TAFE NSW in 1978, Dave has enjoyed a long and memorable career as a teacher, lecturer, mentor and advisor. Dave’s enthusiasm and passion for nurturing students and youth is inspiring. He has dedicated countless hours of his personal time to developing the skills of Australia’s future workforce and for this he should be commended.
Dave has been a WSA volunteer since 1984. Since commencing his involvement he has taken on a wide facet of roles including judge, convenor, expert plus many more. Dave has had a significant influence on those who he has taught and mentored, passing on not only his knowledge of the trade, but also his drive for success.
Dave will continue his involvement with WorldSkills Australia despite his retirement. He was recently appointed the role of Expert for the Electrical Installation category for upcoming International Competition in Leipzig. Dave will be training Dubbo local, David Cummings, in preparation for the competition.
