Architectural Stonemasonry Competition
The skilled hand of the architectural stonemason can be seen in everything from commercial buildings to spectacular places of worship likes mosques and cathedrals.
The architectural stonemason works with natural stone, from granite to marble, creating components, and carving and cutting letters on site. A high level of skill and patience is required to create beautiful stonework that will last for generations. Creativity, innovation, accuracy, and problem solving are the hallmarks of a master stonemason.
The WorldSkills Australia Architectural Stonemasonry Competitions covers the broad aspects of the architectural stonemasonry process including planning and applying safe work practices, reading plans, setting out and measurement, selecting stone, marking details on stone, shaping and profiling stone and dressing and finishing stone.
