IT ALL BEGINS AT A REGIONAL COMPETITION
The WorldSkills Australia Industry 4.0 Competitions begin at a grass roots level in one of 42 Australian regions. The Industry 4.0 Regional Competitions test the skills and knowledge of 4000+ apprentices, trainees and students, who have the opportunity to win gold, silver and bronze medals and gain the chance to go on to compete at a national level.
WorldSkills Australia competitions operate on a two-year cycle. The next Industry 4.0 Regional Competition rounds are now running across the country. 2023 and 2025 are the next National Championship years.

Regional Competition
Training Package Requirements – Regional Level
The 2024 WorldSkills Australia Regional Industry 4.0 Competition aligns to the Units of Competency contained in the 22460VIC – Diploma of Applied Technologies and MSA60108 Advanced Diploma of Manufacturing Technology Qualifications.
Regional Tasks
The Regional Competition consists of projects related the use of digital technologies to modernise systems and processes. The Competition project is designed to test the Competitors skills and ability in the following areas related to Industry 4.0:
- Shortened response times for production processes
- Greater productivity through reduced time and costs
- Information and data to be collected, stored, retrieved, shared and used in different ways for new purposes
- Customisation of products and services as per consumer needs
- Smart maintenance and monitoring
- Secure and efficient operation
Regionals Competition Duration
The competition is completed in 6 – 7 hours over 1 day not including briefing or breaks.
National Competition
