Terms & Conditions – 2023 National Championships
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
WORLDSKILLS AUSTRALIA CONDITIONS
These Conditions together with the Registration Form is an agreement between WorldSkills Australia and you, which governs all aspects of your attendance at the 2023 National Championships and Skills Show (hereafter referred to as Skills Show) co-located with the Victorian Careers and Employment Expo. To the extent of any inconsistency, these Conditions apply. By registering to attend the Skills Show or any Session or Event organised during the Skills Show, or agreeing to an invitation to attend, you as a prospective visitor, acknowledge you have read, understood and agree to be bound by this agreement.
- Interpretation
- “Skills Show” means the 2023 National Championships and Skills Show co-located with the Victorian Careers and Employment Expo at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Melbourne from Thursday 17 August to Saturday 19 August 2023.
- “WSA”, “us” or “we” means WorldSkills Australia (ABN 43 147 075 714).
- “Registration Form” means the online or onsite registration form for attendance Skills Show.
- “Session”, “Event”, “Fee” have the meaning evident from the Registration Form.
- “Terms” means the conditions of this agreement.
- “Venue” means Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Melbourne
- “You” or “your” means the individual or group registered for attendance, as evident from the Registration Form.
- A reference to a “party” includes its officers, employees, agents and contractors.
- General
- WSA reserves the right to amend these Term. These Terms govern your attendance at Skills Show and any Event or Session.
- Risk Management
- You hereby acknowledge and assume all the personal risks of attending the 2023 WorldSkills Australia National Championships and Skills Show co-located with the Victorian Careers and Skills Expo. Whilst every endeavour will be made to ensure your safety, you acknowledge that attending may involve a level of risk.
- You acknowledge that safety precautions undertaken are a service to you and other visitors but are not a guarantee of your safety
- Registration and Payment
- The Skills Show is free entry
- Acceptance of Registration Forms is at the discretion of WSA and, we will provide confirmation via email. We reserve the right to decline any registration.
- Registration Form must be completed and submitted. Otherwise they are considered as incomplete and will not be processed.
- Some sessions may have limited places available and are dealt with on a “first-in” basis. WSA will make reasonable efforts to ensure all registrants are able to attend Session and Event.
- Program Changes
- Concerning the Skills Show, an Event or Session, WSA reserves the right at any time to:
- change the format, participants, content, location and timing or any other aspect;
- postpone them or any part of them; or
- cancel them or any part of them, and will not be liable to you for any damages, costs, losses or expenses of any kind incurred or suffered by you in connection with WSA modifying, postponing or cancelling Skills Show or any Session or Event or any part.
- An Event or Session’s content and Skills Show program is confirmed at time of print. WSA may make changes as required, however will use best efforts to maintain standards.
- WSA developed content is obtained from sources believed to be reputable and reliable.
- Concerning the Skills Show, an Event or Session, WSA reserves the right at any time to:
- Visitor Rights and Obligations
- By registering, you warrant your details as provided are true and correct.
- You must comply with any conditions, rules, regulations or usage requirements of the Venue or of WSA in connection with an Event or Session.
- You must also comply with all directions given by us or the Venue whilst at, entering or departing the Venue (including without limitation in respect of an acceptable noise level emanating from the exhibition space).
- WSA has the right, without any liability, to refuse admission to, or to remove you from an Event or Session, in its absolute discretion, including (without limitation), for failure to comply with these Terms or if in the opinion of WSA you represent a security risk, nuisance or annoyance to the running of a Session or Event.
- Persons under the age of 18 years must be under the direct supervision of a responsible adult at all times. WSA reserves the right to refuse entry to, or to remove from, the Skills Show to any person under 18 years of age who are without adult supervision.
- Privacy Statement
- Protecting your privacy and appropriate use of your personal information is an important aspect of the way WSA implements its activities.
- You acknowledge you may be filmed, recorded and/or photographed by WSA, the media or any other party at the Skills Show and consent to WSA using any such film, sound and/or photograph for WSA editorial, promotion, publicity and advertising purposes, Please contact us if you do not give permission info@worldskills.org.au
- By submitting a Registration Form, you consent to WSA to collecting, using and disclosing your personal information to administer this Event. This includes the production of visitor lists and photographs for marketing and related uses. Your details will only be used to communicate information and resources about the event and activities you may find useful to do in the classroom, unless notified otherwise.
- You agree that WorldSkills can retain your name and contact details and that they can be supplied to the relevant authorities should they be needed to contact trace to support the governments national health response to Covid-19.
