Women in Tech – International Women’s Day

We spoke to some of our key STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) partners with Skills Show Australia 2018 about the importance of getting female students involved in burgeoning tech focused skills and trades.

One Giant Leap Australia

“One Giant Leap Australia is committed to creating Australia’s next leaders who can be comfortable on the world stage. Our inaugural student ambassador Emily Rozanc was not selected by chance. She is truly a reflection of what we see as the future Australian work force  – a female role model who will strive to achieve her goal of becoming a commercial astronaut.

For more than 10 years, our Space Camp programme has had a higher percentage of females than males attend. We assist individuals and educational institutions to apply for grants and funding. Our tailor made experience creates an environment of self-belief and participants develop an ‘I can’ attitude. Our unique programme offers opportunities for females of all ages to challenge themselves and come away with increased confidence in their abilities.

One Giant Leap Australia is truly expanding the horizons of females and STEM skills – problem solving, collaborating, team work and critical and creative thinking. These are the transferable skills that our graduates focus on and develop. We truly are investing in tomorrow today.”
