Adam Morgan, Refrigeration Mechanic at Clements Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Electrical in the Hunter Region NSW, credits his boss for his Gold Medal in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning at the 2025 National WorldSkills Australia Championships.

Adam was first drawn to the trade through family involvement, but it’s his boss, Mark, who has had the greatest influence. “He has a strong passion for our industry, and I think I’ve derived that from him. My wish is to become as knowledgeable and motivated as he still is.”

Mark has backed Adam’s WorldSkills journey every step of the way – paying for equipment, providing time off for training, and even introducing in-house training on company time. Adam is quick to acknowledge the support of both his employer and his mentor, Glen from TAFE NSW.

WorldSkills has also shaped his career outlook. Competing at a Regional and National level has challenged him to stretch his skills and ambition. “They’ve allowed me to really push myself and realise how much I can achieve if I really want to.”

Winning Gold at the National Championships in front of his family, employer and friends remains one of his proudest achievements. “I have nothing but appreciation for my company’s involvement in my WorldSkills journey. Without them and my mentor, Glen, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”

Looking ahead, Adam wants to continue building his skills. “I hope to offer quality work and services,” he says, and beyond that? “Maybe venture into the engineering side of the industry.”
