About me

I studied metal work throughout high school and really enjoyed working with my hands.  When I finished my HSC I knew I didn’t want to go to university for another four years of study, I wanted to start work and earn money.  After one interview at Broens Industries in Ingleburn I was put on as a 1st year fitter and machinist.

In the short term I would like to attain new skills and possibly enter a joint trade as an electrician and fitter/machinist. In the long term I would like a job which involves travel.  Project management is also an appealing option.

How has WorldSkills Australia helped me?

Professionally my time management skills have improved greatly and I feel more confident at work with complex jobs. Personally I feel my social skills have also improved.  It’s a great competition that not only challenges you but also improves your professional and social skills.  It’s also an excellent addition to your resume.

Work Experience in the UK

I would like to learn about maintenance fitting, assembly work on large industry machines, assembly/maintenance work in automotive, marine or aerospace fields and project management.  I would like to learn more skills especially in hydraulics and pneumatics.  I am hoping to find work experience that has the potential to lead me towards a job that involves work related travel.

I can’t wait to travel to the UK, meet new people and experience new adventures.
