Lily is a bright and vivacious young woman who loves using her skills as a beauty therapist to make her customers feel relaxed, refreshed and beautiful.
She first trialled beauty therapy when she did work experience for her Mum in her salon. “After a week I was sold on the idea of becoming a beauty therapist.”
Learning and training while working as an apprentice has been a fantastic opportunity for Lily. “It’s given me such great experience and an exposure to the industry.”
Through WorldSkills, Lily has developed an appreciation of her own abilities. She has also learnt skills that will help her for many years to come – the importance paying attention to detail, as well the power of good organisation and time management.
Lily has aspirations to further her studies and learn about dermal therapies in order to open her own successful skin and beauty clinic in the near future.
Lily is supported on her WorldSkills journey by Dermalogica.
Naomi is very passionate about the opportunities that WorldSkills opens for competitors. Through her role as a lecturer at TAFE NSW she has run numerous regional competitions.
Through these she has seen her students learn many skills, achieve tasks they would otherwise have thought impossible as well as watched then reach great success with their careers.
Working daily with Lily, Naomi is helping her refine her skills so that she will be a strong competitor in Abu Dhabi.
