  • Region Perth North

Kai Baharthah-King’s passions for problem solving, programming and social justice converged when he learned about a career in cyber security while at an ECU Cyber workshop for home educated students. The realisation that he could be at the cutting edge of the war against cyber crime energised him and from that moment, Kai has committed himself to pursuing excellence in the field.

Coming from a home-schooling background, Kai tailored his learning towards areas where he excelled. Having found a career path that aligns with his interests and skills has helped him to carry on that philosophy and, with the support of his mentor, Sawan Singh, Kai has learnt the importance of resilience and strategic thinking – qualities essential for thriving in the fast-paced world of cyber security.

His vision going into Lyon 2024 is clear: to emerge as a skilled cyber security professional capable of protecting digital assets and networks. His participation is as much about personal achievement as it is about inspiring others to recognise and explore the potential of vocational pathways in cyber security.

“My work in Cyber Security has me reacting and stopping live cyber-attacks every day. I love that my skill always keeps me on my toes and allows me to constantly learn new things.”
